Philips 47PFL5403 flat screen TV has very fast LCD response

Tagged Under : , ,

Philips TV 9703-series created late 2008 has the  latest technology in the A/V department. For one it has a really fast LCD response time, trillion color display and high-powered speaker system.

The entry-level 47PFL5403 and the premium 47PFL9703 carries similarities when it comes to style. Nevermind the cash you spend on this because you get a smooth glossy-shine. This is also garnished with a translucent trimming and Light-Guide that flickers when the TV is turned on. The TV is also designed to  have shifted the speaker in the back. There is a total of four drivers in groups of two , this TV also shows another nice touch by designing a glass swivel stand to go with it. Although it still gets dusty but the material is less prone to scratches comparing to TV’s made with plastic. For mounting options, the tabletop stand can be switched for a VESA wall bracket capable to support it’s weight of  35kg . Furthermore, there are quality chromed buttons on the left and easy to get to the  A/V ports also headphone, HDMI and USB on the right. This attention to details extends to an effective catch for cable management. The designer has placed a selection of keys for multifunctional device control and playback buttons for Easy-Link function of HDMI-CEC to accommodate one-remote operations.  The Software Menu on this is interface is well planed, and many vendors will offer tech-support through a set up wizard if you have problems with it.  The wizard has music and pictorial guides that help consumers get from basic problems to more advanced issues, so being an amateur wouldn’t matter, you will be able to use this TV in no time. The viewing is great because it is 178 degrees wide with  sonics through a powerful 30W audio amplifier and that’s 50 percent better than regular TVs .  It also has 100Hz Clear LCD frame for rate-doubling technology that helps give fast 2ms response time. There are many compatible formats like; thumbdrives , memory cards by card readers and digital cameras, to JPEG, MP3, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files. Allowance of  photo slideshows with  background music creations, display time intervals and transition styles, and image rotation are done too.

Connectivity is good and you get sharp grain free picture quality, it also has perfect color decoding and grayscale tracking installed, and shadow details in dark scenes are highlighted. There is a technology in this TV called Perfect Natural Motion and you have to activate it, and you can see even better in dark scenes because it shows movement a bit more like more colors and realistic skin tones. The Olympus Mju 1060

Tagged Under : , , ,

Olympus Mju 1060

The Olympus Mju 1060 is the best when it comes to long-zoom point-and-shoot, the Mju 1010’s range isn’t as far. The new model has similar specifications like the 7x optical zoom with 10-megapixel sensors just like the camera made before 1060. However, with the 1060 there are slight upgrades done to better the LCD size as well as the installation of a smarter automatic shooting mode.

The Designs are great because the buttons for the features of the camera are located in the back of the camera, with easy to read buttons. It’s not hard to tell the difference from the 1010 versus the 1060 because of the outside way it’s built because the newer model which is 1060 is slimmer than the older version 1010 and the lenses are larger, and there are backlit buttons featured and the buttons are so easy to read that you can operate this camera with one hand.

The LCD on the 1060 has also upgraded this time, because it’s designed to view up to 3 inches, and the 1010 had the 2.7-inch display, and the screen has a good viewing angle and it wasn’t difficult to take pictures and the  sunlight won’t affect the picture, and there is a HyperCrystal LCD which Olympus has installed this time around and I think that helps. Highlights and shadowed areas activate smart shooting for better picture taking, and Panasonic is the first company to have that function installed, there is also an optical image stabilizer on the Mju 1060.  The Olympus has a lot of storage space because it has 41.1GB and can be upgraded with 2GB more, you can also choose the microSD card but it’s only 2GB, and if you use it in that format, then you can’t use panorama shooting. Overall the performance for the 1060 is great with good fast face-detection, recognizing profiles quickly because it detected more than 15 faces within seconds. The lithium-ion battery seem to last forever because I took more than 189 photos and it was still functioning like I could take 100 more. The image quality is great and if you take shots don’t go beyond 775 ISO.  Pictures really look their best when taken at 375 ISO anything above that has dots in the images. The sunlight or light(white in the picture) were well balanced anywhere I took a picture. However the Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-TZ15 has  10x optical zoom-in lens with 28mm wide-angle lens, and this shooter will be a challenge tothe Mju 1060. For more information about this camera please go to : Panasonic.com for the Lumix DMC-TZ15 and for the Mju Olympus America.com

The Philips 42PFL9803H 42-inch LCD

Tagged Under : ,

Philips 42PFL9803H 42-inch LCD

The Philips 42PFL9803H 42-inch LCD and the remote control that comes with the tv matches the basic color of the TV, and it’s a slightly different colored , but it serves it’s purpose. The way the economy is these days for U.S companies, I’m just happy Philips is still around and plastic can save them money and can be quite durable as well.

The remote also has a rotating wheel that you can use it to select menu items.
The connectivity is great, and there are four HDMI inputs, and three on the back, with another one on the side. Video in is another feature, and it has  a VGA connection for your media center PC or Xbox 360, and  a pair of SCART sockets can hook up the older, standard definition equipment. There is an S video input on the other side of the panel and is handy for hooking up a camcorder. For more information about the LCD go to Philips.com

With the fight on to create the largest HDTV it seems many forget that not everybody wants a 102? screen hanging on their wall. Sharp have jumped in to a gap and created a 22?
