Sanyo’s hybrid Xacti design has been around for a while, but it’s getting better all the time.
This version has a 7 mega pixel sensor which can generate 720p HD footage and 7MP stills. It’s the only one of this bunch to that could really replace the digital camera. In the world of camcorders its 5x zoom range isn’t much to write home about, of course, but if you can live with that you’ll find it has a lot offer.
First impression of the HD700 is resoundingly positive. It ‘s extreme small and light but feels very well made- you could sling it in a holiday pack and not worry about it getting squashed by your guide book.
The Sanyo costs around £70/$140 more than Panasonic, but apart from the smaller zoom range, its miles better. It’s much more pocketable than the HD Samsung and a fraction of the price of the Samsung so over all a really good buy
