Admittedly most of the mainstream (*cough* Apple) still seems content to stick a pathetic 2-megapixel camera into its phones…….yer yer an ive got one but hey i love it!, but one or two manufacturers are slowly realising that our camera and phone can finally be one and the same. Samsung is certainly one of them and the INNOV8 i8510 phone is its latest attempt to convert us.

Fresh out of the blocks in the far east, this Symbian S60 slider is typical Samsung, offering everything but the kitchen sink in a shiny slimline case. That obviously includes the camera, an 8-megapixel job with auto focus that should ensure a long stay in the drawer for your old compact. Still not impressed? Well, how about we throw a few other things into the mix, like a 2.9-inch QVGA screen, HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, TV-out, a 3D graphic chipset and a media player that even offers DivX playback amongst the usual suspects.

And there’s more, including GPS, 16GB of on-board memory, an optical mouse and DLNA compatibility. Samsung is usually pretty tasty at getting its new phones on the shelves (look and learn Sony), so I wouldn’t be surprised if this makes it to your local seller in the next couple of months – price obviously dependent on contract.
